Il presente contributo propone una riflessione di natura teoretica attorno al concetto di tecnica e di tecnologia. La connaturalità della tecnica all’essere
umano ne impone una generale accettazione anche etica: il problema è quando l’abuso (non già l’uso) delle tecnologie fa scaturire conseguenze che danneggiano il mondo umano invece di supportarlo o migliorarlo. L’orizzonte tecnomorfo, da cui nel testo si prendono le distanze, si mostra incapace di una visione critica idonea a distinguere tra uso ed abuso: già la critica di Heidegger alla “tecnica moderna”, sviluppata poi in direzioni attualizzanti nel corso del contributo, instrada efficacemente la riflessione in una direzione in cui convergono sia la critica della tecnica sia il pensiero ecologico contemporaneo. Ad unificare le prospettive, o almeno a favorirne la convergenza (che è al contempo avvicinamento della giustificazione delle reazioni regolatorie), è la consapevolezza della natura lato sensu ecologica della sfida neotecnologica come di quella ambientale. La proposta conclusiva è quella di mettere a punto una ecoetica i cui principi possano trasversalmente riguardare i diversi mondi abitati oggi dagli esseri umani, da quello strettamente materiale, la Terra, a quello digitale.

This paper offers a theoretical reflection on the concepts of technics and technology. The inherent nature of technics in human existence necessitates its general acceptance, including from an ethical standpoint: the problem arises when the abuse (not the use) of technology leads to consequences that harm the human world rather than supporting or improving it. The technomorphic horizon, from which the text distances itself, proves incapable of a critical vision capable of distinguishing between use and abuse: Heidegger’s critique of “modern technology” – which is further developed in contemporary terms throughout the paper – effectively steers the reflection toward a direction where both the critique of technology and contemporary ecological thought converge. What unifies these perspectives, or at least fosters their convergence (which simultaneously brings us closer to justifying regulatory responses), is the awareness of the broadly ecological nature of the neotechnological challenge, just as it is of the environmental one. The concluding proposal is to develop an eco-ethics whose principles can transversally address the various worlds inhabited today by human beings, from the strictly material one – the Earth – to the digital one.
